Checkups & Cleanings

Tooth decay prevention and optimal gum health are one of the best ways to keep your natural teeth for as long as possible.

We believe that Oral Healthcare is the key to an overall healthy body when you are able to chew your food and eat well, you are able to nourish yourself from the inside and out creating a healthy mind, healthy body. Preventive dentistry allows you to sleep better and perform at your complete best in your daily routines enabling a more positive approach to living your best life.

We begin oral health care with thorough but routine dental cleanings and oral examinations on a regular basis, ranging from 2, 3 and 4 times per year, Depending on each person’s individual needs, This helps to ensure you have healthy teeth and gums allowing us the opportunity to catch any early signs of dental disease i.e.tooth decay or periodontal or ” gum disease”.

Our highly trained dental hygienist works closely with Dr. Sethi to provide each patient with a personalized treatment plan, along with a soft touch allowing you a pain-free experience.

At Esthetic Dentistry of Fairfax, Dr. Sethi recommends our patients have a minimum of two oral evaluations per year along with a cleaning to remove plaque and calculus or “tartar” to achieve healthy teeth and gums.

Our initial comprehensive examination is how we determine and build a strong relationship with each patient. This exam includes an oral cancer screening & checking the lymph nodes for any abnormalities. We also evaluate the teeth noting any signs of decay or misalignment along with an assessment of the gum tissue or gingiva for the presence of disease or bone loss.

Athletic guards/ sports guards

As an athlete himself, Dr. Vandana Sethi feels strongly about the importance of protecting your teeth and keeping your smile for life.  Although there are options to buy a mouth guard at a sporting goods store.

They are not made to fit your mouth and can fall out easily and not provide you with the best protection available.  We know that contact sports can be damaging and encourage our patients to have a custom fabricated athletic guard made by our office to provide you with personalized comfort and protection as you play.

Night guards or Occlusal guards

Teeth grinding also known as bruxism can be severely damaging to the teeth, if left untreated teeth can become worn down, break or cause inflamed or receding gums.  When the symptoms from grinding your teeth become more severe some patients will experience headaches, earaches, stiffness in the neck or tight shoulders, disturbed sleep habits and tight or aching jaw muscles leading to TMJ disorder.

We offer our patients a night guard to help combat the effects of teeth grinding, this device is made of a clear acrylic and designed by our lab to fit precisely for you.

We know not all patients are the same, which is why we offer individualized care and we pride in being a patient-focused dental practice.  You can count on Dr. Vandana Sethi and his team to provide you with top quality dental care.
