Dental Technology

In our commitment to provide you with high quality dental care, The State-of-the-art dental technology allows Dr. Mostafa Aboulkhair and his team to deliver the highest quality results. Each has been chosen not for its own sake but because it provides you with more comfortable treatments, improves clinical efficiency, examination and diagnosis, scope of treatment and overall quality of your patient care. Some of the different types of technology used in our office include:

1381127988-6831975highlight_3Digital X-Rays and Cone Beam 3D (CBCT) Scan:

Digital x-rays expose patients and staff to up to 90% less radiation than traditional film x-rays. The Cone Beam 3D Scan offers 360° model of the patient that results from the CBCT scan can be rotated, and slices can be isolated and manipulated for analysis. A single scan will provide accurate diagnostic information – patients are properly diagnosed, triaged, and treated the first time. This reduces treatment ambiguity.

Intraoral camera:

mouth-watchAn intraoral camera is used in combination with a computer monitor. It is designed to take pictures of the outsides of a patient’s teeth. If a fracture, chip, crack or other damage is suspected, this technology allows us to show you the actual damage. Often, you may have a damaged tooth but ignore the problem because it doesn’t hurt, or you may not even realize the damage exists.

DIAGNOdent Pen:

thumb-phpThis is the latest caries detection aid. The DIAGNOdent™ pen will show you where the decay lies. It works quickly and reliably. The laser fluorescence detector within the DIAGNOdent pen is a precise method for identifying fissure caries, proximal caries and periodontitis.

Sub-surface caries lesions can be extremely difficult to detect using an explorer, and the DIAGNOdent™ offers a perfect adjunct to the diagnostic arsenal. It is especially useful for pit and fissure areas – even when the outer tooth surface seems to be intact.

SonicFill is the fast and easy bulk fill composite filling system for posterior restorations. The only one powered by sonic transforms tedious, repetitive posterior restorations into easy and reliable Single Fill placement: filling cavities up to 5mm in depth in a single increment, with a single material – and no liner or capping layer.

363In cosmetic dentistry procedures, the TENS Unit is used to relax jaw muscles and restore them to their normal resting position allowing us to obtain an accurate diagnosis when testing for malocclusion and Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD). The TENS Unit is also used to relieve tension and muscle spasms and aids in muscle extension and relaxation.

t-scanWith T-Scan‘s digital biteforce data, clinicians can pinpoint occlusal interferences, quickly remove them, and treat patients with greater accuracy than ever before. T-Scan is also a great visual aid that helps patients to better understand their occlusion and the treatments that may be necessary to balance bite forces.

imagesThe BioPak is a complete system that records a range of parameters of the stomatognathic system including the function of the mandible and muscles of mastication.

The information obtained by the system helps diagnose and treat temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), sleep disorders and craniofacial pain. It can be used for restorative, orthodontic, denture, implant and occlusal reconstruction patient evaluation.

Biometric technology gives the doctor objective data from which to make decisions and measure documented treatment results.
